This paper examines the change in poverty and inequality in Lima, Peru between 1985 - 86 and 1990. The data employed are from the 1985 - 86 and 1990 Living Standards Measurement Surveys. The results are presented in the context of the "unorthodox" macroeconomic policies which were undertaken between those years by the Peruvian government.
