The vulnerable Indonesian female migrant workers : in search of solutions (Vol. 1 of 2) (English)

The number of Indonesians working abroad has increased dramatically over the last two decades. Surprisingly, the total number of female migrants exceeds that of men. In 2002, 76 percent of 480,393 overseas workers were women. 94 percent of these women worked as domestic helpers in Middle Eastern, East Asian and Southeast Asian countries.
