Guided by the overall curriculum framework developed under the project, the grade 1 curriculum has been revised, and the new grade 2 curriculum renewal is in progress. These new curricula and associated teacher training are expected to piloted in a sample of schools nationwide during the 2019-20 school year. The course on instructional methods for the UG FHS faculty is underway, and the development of the student assessment system is progressing. The values for 2018, the most recent data available, now exceed the final targets. In the absence of a restructuring, the team recommends continuing to track these data as intended, but also to rely on the planned impact evaluation to provide more rigorous evidence on changes in learning outcomes.
