Subject: Republic of Croatia: Loan No. 8258-HR
Second Science and Technology Project
Amendment Letter
Reference is made to the Loan Agreement (Second Science and Technology
Project), Loan No. 8258-HR entered into between the International Bank for
Reconstruction and Development ("Bank") and the Republic of Croatia ("Borrower"),
dated May 22, 2013 for the above-referenced Loan ("Loan Agreement") as amended. We
also refer to the Borrower's letter dated December 27, 2016 requesting certain amendments
to the Loan Agreement.
We are pleased to inform you that, after due consideration, the Bank has acceded
to the aforementioned request. Therefore, the Loan Agreement shall be amended as
follows:
1.    All references to MSES (Ministry of Science, Education and Sport) in the Loan
Agreement shall be amended to read "MSE" (Ministry of Science and Education).
2.    The table in Section IV, Part A, paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Loan Agreement
shall be amended to read as follows:

8.     Section IV.B.2 of Schedule 2 to the Loan Agreement shall be amended to read as follows:
"2.    The Closing Date is March 31, 2019."
9.     Section I. items 17 of the Appendix to the Loan Agreement shall be amended to read as
follows:
"17.  "MSE" means the Borrower's Ministry of Science and Education, and includes
any successor thereto."
All the other terms and conditions of the Loan Agreement, as amended hereby, shall remain
in full force and effect.

Please confirm your agreement to the foregoing amendment, on behalf of the Republic of
Croatia, by signing and dating the confirmation on the enclosed copy of this Amendment Letter
and returning it to us. This amendment will come into force and effect as of the date of
countersignature by the Borrower and upon receipt by the Bank of the said duly countersigned
original Amendment Letter.
