Considerable progresses are made in respect to all components including the knowledge dissemination aspects. School preparation programs for new school entrants (5-6 years of age) and extracurricular after-school programs for herders' children (6-10 years of age) living away from their parents and home have been significantly strengthened in all (30) soums implementing the project. The innovations that successfully piloted by the project have been increasingly recognized by the Ministry of Education and some initial dissemination actions have been taken. Pilot compensatory education programs for grade 1-3 have been successfully developed, piloted and implemented. Small grant scheme to support local community initiates’ has proved to be instrumental in promoting active involvement of parents and community members in the local undertakings. The total number of beneficiary children reached 76% of its target by June 2016. Two documentary films about the project impacts on herder families and their children will be publicly available soon.
