The PIU has been asked to work with both to finalize the project completion reports for each. The team is working to identify the necessary steps to reallocate exchange rate gains for sensible investments that can increase efficiency in the future--e.g., water tanks vs. trucked water, better procurement options for necessary office equipment that will save money over the medium to long term. The FAO contract to implement Component 2 is the remaining contract to be completed of the 3 implementation contracts, and activities are winding down now. The final quarterly report should be available in July prior to project closing. On average, each beneficiary household received three sheep or goats and five poultry.  January – March 2019: About 781 households (576 females and 205 males) received goat and sheep (4 492) and poultry (6 601). Overall, 2542 households received livestock, representing 85 percent achievement. Restoring Fishing Livelihoods  October – December: Additional 400 households in Renk are received the fishing hooks and twines. Livestock Health  October – December 2018: 20,888 and 43,345 heads of livestock vaccinated and treated, respectively.  January – March 2019: 131,810 and 29,479 heads of livestock vaccinated and treated, respectively Distribution of Tools  January – March: Partners collected and distributed 28,614 remaining tools --- completing that activity. Training  Refresher trainings to strengthen the capacity of 131 CBAHWs (112 male, 19 female) to enhance the resilience of the livestock keeping communities through the provision of basic veterinary services.  Training 190 producers (103 male, 87 female) in the application of improved practices/technologies for animal husbandry  Training 8 fishery producer groups comprising 214 fishers (26 female, 188 male) in improved fish handling practices and post-harvest fish processing and preservation methods, and helping groups construct improved fish processing equipment (smoking oven, improved fish drying racks, etc.)  6 crop producer groups (198 members) were trained on crop post-harvest management, storage and marketing, and each group was supported to construct one improved traditional storage structure  9 vegetable groups (250 members) were trained on dry season production, harvest handling and marketing, and supported to establish demonstration plots for group members to practice their skills. Comments: Contributing to post-project sustainability is the training of 123 community hygiene promoters and dissemination hygiene awareness messages to 90,842 people. The Christian Mission for Development (CMD) distributed fishing gear (hooks, twines and monofilaments) to Renk County in October 2018, covering three payams and reaching 400 beneficiaries. FAO provided assorted quantities of livestock vaccines, drugs and equipment to the CBAHWs across the project locations to support both vaccination campaigns and treatment across the project locations Comments: Jul – Sep. 2018: In July additional 9,338 households received assorted crop seeds and tools in Jonglei, Ulang and Renk. Of the 9,338 HH, 1,838 received seed through seed fairs in Renk (544), and Bor South (1 294). The other 7 500 received assorted crop seed through direct distribution in Ulang Livestock restocking was awaiting the release of funds and should be commencing now. FAO secured all the fishing kits (twines and hooks). The kits have been released to all the partners between May and June 2018. Distribution will be carried out between August and October.
