The Grant closing date has been extended for an additional year, i.e. until September 30, 2012. After a slow start, implementation of Grant activities is now progressing relatively smoothly. To date, disbursements represent about 7% of the total Grant amount and actual commitments amount to approximately 16% of the total Grant amount. One rural primary Public Disclosure Copy school (of three planned) was completed and two others are at 65% and 75% completion rates. The provision of furniture for these three rural schools is at the stage of evaluation. Packages for the rehabilitation of 5 primary schools and provision of school kits are currently in the bidding process.
