The global objective is to reduce municipal pollution and nutrients in the Adriatic Sea and the Danube Basin. The sub-objectives are: (i) develop the Wastewater Improvement Plan; (ii) further strengthen the Joint BiH/Croatian Working group, with coordination from Serbia and Montenegro to implement the Wastewater Improvement Plan; (iii) develop and implement high-priority, low-cost water capital investments; and (iv) disseminate information in BiH and the region for replication of project activities at other priority sites in the Balkans. With Additional Co-financing (US$ 8.8 million) approved to support sub- projects in Zivinice and Mostar, the project closing date has been extended till August 2015. Rehabilitation of the Trnovo and Odzak Waste Water Treatment Plants (WWTP) has been completed and the plants are fully operational. The construction of Zivinice WWTP phase 0, was completed and the first phase started on August 12, 2013.
