More than one-third of the mobilized households belong to the Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs), which is above the state distribution of 18 percent. More than 75% of the SHGs have been federated into Village Organizations (VOs).  These SHGs have mobilized INR 205 crores (USD 29 million) in group savings thus far and have leveraged INR 2788 crores (USD 429 million) from commercial banks. The project has ramped up efforts in promoting digital financial services with women community members being trained to function as banking correspondents across the state, creating new employment opportunities and improving provision of financial services in their communities.  The project has reached out to more than 2 million rural families with intensive behaviour change communication (BCC) around improved nutrition and sanitation practices. 232,706 SHGs have undergone at least 4 modular trainings on such practices with dedicated sub- committees formed at village level to monitor adoption. The project has played a pivotal role in facilitating access to sanitation facilities under Government of India’s Swachh Bharat Mission-Rural with an estimated 3 million rural households supported to access benefits under the program.  The project has scaled up productivity enhancement interventions to cover 412,700 households through 2,980 Village Resource Persons (VRPs), that provide agriculture extension services for key crops including Paddy, Wheat, Maize and Vegetables. The project is supporting entrepreneurial extension services by developing Agri-Entrepreneurs who are trained local youths that provide input and extension services to small-farmers.  The project is now scaling up successful pilots like Rural Retail Marts (Community managed wholesale stores for supporting smaller trading businesses) and Community managed catering enterprises including hospital canteens.  The project has made significant progress in recruiting high quality professionals to support livelihood interventions at all levels. 74 new livelihood specialists have been recruited from agriculture universities to support field level implementation. All eight Farmer Producer Organizations have been facilitated with necessary establishment support as well as human resources including Chief Executives hired through open market recruitment.  The project has actively built technical assistance partnership with several organizations including Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for FPO based value chains and nutrition BCC, Syngenta Foundation for training and capacity building of agri-entrepreneurs and Kudumbashree for enterprise development.
