The Project has moved out of the stage where TORs for Project activities are primarily being developed. With the exception of a few terms of reference, all terms of reference for country-level activities have been completed and have received the Bank’s no objection. The Project is now at the stage of completing the procurement processes, including negotiation and contracting. In Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, one consultancy is underway as of March 11. In Saint Lucia, one consultancy has been completed, and three other consultancies are expected to contract within two months, and in Grenada, one consultancy is underway. 5/20/2019 Page 1 of 6 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report OECS Regional Tourism Competitiveness (P152117) It is expected that fifteen Project activities with a total value of approximately USD2M will commence within this calendar year. In Grenada, these include the design of the Fort George upgrades and the procurement of goods required by Customs and Immigration for the Harvey Vale ferry terminal. In Saint Lucia, these include several activities for the redevelopment of Castries (manual to guide the façade improvements, hiring of grant manager to oversee the façade improvements program, design of the boulevard enhancements, improvement of sidewalks downtown), the modernization of the land registry, and the consultancy to support preparing, refining and deepening sustainable tourism development plans and policies, and the procurement of the Customs equipment for the ferry terminal. In Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, these activities include the commercialization plan for Fort Charlotte, the procurement of equipment needed by Customs and Immigration for the Kingstown and Union Island ferry terminals, the construction of the Union Island ferry terminal, the design studies for the upgrades to Fort Charlotte, and the procurement of educational equipment for the maritime institute.
