developmentservices.
"Beneficiary" means a disadvantaged man or woman between the ages of 18 and 29 who is aspiring to be or is
anentrepreneur with secondary education or less, as selected pursuant to the provisions of the POM.

I. SUMMARY OF PROJECT STATUS AND PROPOSED CHANGES

           Strengthening micro-entrepreneurship for disadvantaged youth (P144134)




 The project Strengthening micro-entrepreneurship opportunities for disadvantaged youth in Morocco addresses one
 of the key measures of the Integrated National Youth Strategy, namely youth inclusion through self-employment. The
 grant agreement was signed on July 25, 2013, becoming effective on August 27, 2013. The objective of the Project is to
 provide Beneficiaries in the Project Areas with access to micro-entrepreneurship development services. Progress
 towards achievement of the Project Development Objectives (PDOs) is considered satisfactory with all PDO-level
 indicator targets have been achieved. Disbursements stand at 85% and it is expected that funds will be fully disbursed
 at the end of proposed new closing date. There is no pending audit report and the 2017 audit was unqualified and
 considered satisfactory.

 This restructuring will extend the closing date of the Strengthening micro-entrepreneurship opportunities for
 disadvantaged youth in Morocco for a period of 5 months, from March 31, 2019 to August 30, 2019. The recipient and
 Implementing Agency (Ministry of Youth and Sports, Government of Morocco) has submitted a request for the
 extension of the project, which was endorsed by the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

 A first extension of the closing date, from March 31, 2018 to March 31, 2019, was granted to the implementing agency
 to allow the following activities to take place:
 •      Consolidation of the post-creation follow-up support for young micro-entrepreneurs;
 •      Organization of National and Regional Young Entrepreneurs
 •      Strengthening the network between Master associations and Community-based organizations engaged in the
 entrepreneurship field
 •      Organization of a capacity-building workshop for Ministry of Youth and Sport
 •      Organization of round table discussions bringing together institutional actors, Master associations and
 Community-based organizations providing services to young entrepreneurs

 The extension will allow for the completion of activities initiated during the first extension, such as the consolidation
 of the post-creation follow-up support for current young micro-entrepreneurs and the organization of workshops to
 engage with the private sector.
