This ISR is based on the October 2016 mission held in Bujumbura (with FM, Procurement, Safeguards, and technical assessments). Thanks to a better security situation (despite a tense political context), the health sector has been more efficient at the end of 2015 and beginning of 2016 (the results of the project are included in Section 5). In addition, health development partners have started to undertake missions in Bujumbura and within the country. The European Union has resumed its funding to RBF for US$ 40 million. The frozen funds (such as GAVI HSS) are beginning to be active again.
