Implementation of most activities is progressing. The project has been able to achieve some significant results. Most prominent amongst them is the achievement of a 1:1 ratio for core textbooks and provision of 1,100 additional teachers in the educationally and economically disadvantaged sub-counties that the project targets. A needs assessment to identify schools with the highest needs that will benefit from the project has been completed. Activities related to infrastructure improvements, provision of scholarships and advocacy activities and school based teacher support are expected to commence in the new academic year beginning in January 2020.
