Its implementation continues to be satisfactory. FADC's implementation performance remains satisfactory: fiduciary aspects ( financial management and procurement), monitoring and evaluation, internal audit as well as implementation of safeguards are all rated satisfactory. The Union government, the governments of the three islands as well as the communities report to be extremely satisfied with FADC's implementation of the Project and the benefit of the Project on the population. This Project has been extremely useful to actively respond to the impacts of catastrophic floods which devastated the country in early 2012. Page 1 of 4 The World Bank Report No: ISR7706 As of September 30, 2012, 117 cash-for-work micro-projects have been completed (the end-of-project target is to complete 150 cash-for-work sub-projects) creating close to 150,000 person-days of employment which have provided direct benefits to over 6,000 individuals (of whom 60% are women). Public Disclosure Copy The current closing date is July 13, 2014. However, all activities are now expected to be completed by end-June 2013. An assessment of the cash-for-work program including selection of sub-projects, targeting and payment mechanism among others has been completed. As a result, the livelihood vulnerability of the population has increased while poverty remains widespread — particularly in rural areas. Given the successful implementation of the current Project, the Government requested and the Bank's management agreed to review the possibility to providing additional financing to the current project and the Emergency Crises Response Project financed from IDA (See ISR#5 of P120631). Also, the French bilateral agency (Agence Francaise de Developpement, or AFD) is considering allocating some resources from its budget support Public Disclosure Copy operation to the cash-for work program successfully implemented by FADC under the present Project.
