This will be accomplished through the expanded adoption of non-mandatory low GHG-emitting waste management technologies as part of sector modernization anticipated under the Clean Water Act and the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act. Has the Project Development Objective been changed since Board Approval of the Project Objective? Land Bank is supported by a separate Bank-administered, recipient-executed grant, which strengthens its capacity to develop and manage these carbon assets. The animal waste and the landfill CDM programs have made much slower progress than was originally expected and, with fewer subprojects included, both programs will deliver fewer CERs than the volume targeted for purchase in the ERPAs. Together, these Land Bank CDM programs are helping to transform waste management practices in the Philippines and – subject to further negotiations on the fate of CDM beyond 2020 -- assist the government in achieving the country's nationally determined contributions (NDCs) to reduce greenhouse gases under the Paris Agreement. 6/17/2019 Page 1 of 2 Public Disclosure Copy Public Disclosure Copy The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Philippines: Methane Recovery from Waste Management Project (P115080) Risks Systematic Operations Risk-rating Tool Risk Category Rating at Approval Previous Rating Current Rating Political and Governance  --  Low  Low Macroeconomic  --  Low  Low Sector Strategies and Policies  --  Moderate  Moderate Technical Design of Project or Program  --  Moderate  Moderate Institutional Capacity for Implementation and Sustainability  --  Moderate  Moderate Fiduciary  --  Low  Low Environment and Social  --  Moderate  Substantial Stakeholders  --  Low  Low Other  --  --  -- Overall  --  Moderate  Moderate Related Project(s) There are no related projects. 6/17/2019 Page 2 of 2 Public Disclosure Copy
