Immediately following the launch of the Rwanda’s Multi-sectoral program to Combat Chronic Malnutrition and Invest in the early years in May 2018, the project became effective on June 5, 2018. The project continues to enjoy high-level political commitment and attention, strong capacity to mobilize communities, and good collaboration on the ground with other development partners. The multisectoral collaboration and coordination under the leadership of NECDP within the Government is making strong progress with the recent approval of a multi- sectoral strategy. Project implementation is steady and needs to be accelerated to maximize the impact on stunting. 5/6/2019 Page 1 of 7 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Rwanda Stunting Prevention and Reduction Project (P164845) Risks Systematic Operations Risk-rating Tool Risk Category Rating at Approval Previous Rating Current Rating Political and Governance Moderate Moderate Moderate Macroeconomic Moderate Moderate Moderate Sector Strategies and Policies Moderate Moderate Moderate Technical Design of Project or Program Substantial Substantial Substantial Institutional Capacity for Implementation and Sustainability Substantial Substantial Substantial Fiduciary Moderate Moderate Moderate Environment and Social Moderate Moderate Moderate Stakeholders Moderate Moderate Moderate Other -- -- -- Overall Substantial Substantial Substantial Results PDO Indicators by Objectives / Outcomes To contribute to reduction in the stunting rate among children under five in the target districts IN00676580 ►Indicator 1a: Percentage of children under 5 years with height-for-age z-score below -2 standard deviations (Percentage, Custom) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 37.10 0.00 0.00 27.20 Date 28-Feb-2018 15-Oct-2018 15-Oct-2018 30-Apr-2023 IN00676586 ►Indicator 1b: Percentage of children under 2 years with height-for-age z-score below -2 standard deviations (Percentage, Custom) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 37.10 0.00 0.00 27.20 Date 28-Feb-2018 15-Oct-2018 15-Oct-2018 30-Apr-2023 IN00676587 ►Indicator 2: Percentage of children 6-23 months old who are fed a diverse diet (Percentage, Custom) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target 5/6/2019 Page 2 of 7 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Rwanda Stunting Prevention and Reduction Project (P164845) Value 22.90 0.00 0.00 50.00 Date 28-Feb-2018 15-Oct-2018 15-Oct-2018 30-Apr-2023 IN00676588 ►Indicator 3: Percentage of women who attended 4 or more ANC visits during their most recent pregnancy (Percentage, Custom) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 41.00 0.00 0.00 55.00 Date 28-Feb-2018 15-Oct-2018 15-Oct-2018 30-Apr-2023 IN00676589 ►People who have received essential health, nutrition, and population (HNP) services (Number, Corporate) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 0.00 0.00 0.00 1,660,000.00 Date 28-Feb-2018 15-Oct-2018 15-Oct-2018 30-Apr-2023 IN00676590 Number of women and children who have received basic nutrition services (Number, Corporate Breakdown) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 0.00 0.00 0.00 1,660,000.00 Date 28-Feb-2018 15-Oct-2018 15-Oct-2018 30-Apr-2023 IN00676591 Indicator 4a: Number of children under 5 were beneficiaries of project interventions (Number, Custom Breakdown) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 0.00 0.00 0.00 560,000.00 Date 28-Feb-2018 15-Oct-2018 15-Oct-2018 30-Apr-2023 IN00676592 Indicator 4b: Number of women of reproductive age (including pregnant and lactating women) who were beneficiaries of project interventions (Number, Custom Breakdown) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 0.00 0.00 0.00 1,100,000.00 Date 28-Feb-2018 15-Oct-2018 15-Oct-2018 30-Apr-2023 Intermediate Results Indicators by Components Component 1: Prevention of Stunting at Community and Household Levels IN00676593 ►IRI 1: Percentage of children at risk of stunting identified at the health center receiving follow up visits by CHWs (Percentage, Custom) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 0.00 0.00 0.00 75.00 5/6/2019 Page 3 of 7 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Rwanda Stunting Prevention and Reduction Project (P164845) Date 28-Feb-2018 15-Oct-2018 15-Oct-2018 30-Apr-2023 IN00676596 ►IRI 2: Percentage of home-based ECD centers with satisfactory scores on quality score card (Percentage, Custom) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 0.00 0.00 0.00 80.00 Date 28-Feb-2018 15-Oct-2018 15-Oct-2018 30-Apr-2023 IN00676599 ►IRI 3: Number of parenting groups created and functional (positive deviance) (Number, Custom) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 0.00 0.00 0.00 0.00 Date 28-Feb-2018 15-Oct-2018 15-Oct-2018 30-Apr-2023 The endline target value depends on number of ECDs supported.
