These community institutions have exhibited strong inclusion as 32 percent of women members belong to SC/ST households as opposed to the state average of 18 percent. 33 percent of all loans given by community institutions are accessed by SC/ST women members and 50 percent of beneficiaries under livestock interventions are from these vulnerable sections.  The project has performed well in enabling financial inclusion, facilitating SHG-Bank linkage to the tune of USD 432 million and has supported expansion of public insurance coverage to 1.28 million women members. 629,000 women members have been supported to open individual savings bank accounts and 600 women are providing doorstep banking services as Bank Sakhis, facilitating average monthly transactions of approximately USD 20 million.  Working at scale with small farmers, the project has reached more than 331,000 farmers with value chain interventions aimed at improved production and market access. The project has promoted a mix of productivity enhancement and resource conservation interventions including System of Crop Intensification, Direct Seeded Rice, Zero Tillage, Backyard Kitchen Garden and Vegetable Cultivation. The project has scaled up the Agri-Entrepreneur program with more than 100 village resource persons supported to set up input and extension service delivery enterprises.  6 new Farmer Producer Companies have been promoted under the project and four of them have initiated profitable business operations within a year of formation. These companies have achieved a combined business turnover of USD 200,000 in the first year of operations, working on commodities such as Maize, Potato and Mango. In total, 10 FPCs promoted by JEEViKA have achieved a combined turnover of USD 7.7 million, generating returns for 13,000 farmer shareholders.  The project is implementing livestock interventions in Goatery, Poultry and Dairy with nearly 32,000 women members. Fee based service delivery models are being developed in these sectors and 160 women members have been trained as Pashu Sakhis to provide livestock support services to improve feeding practices and reduce mortality.  The project has successfully piloted community-based innovative enterprises business models in emerging sectors of food services (Didi Ki Rasoi) and retail (Rural Retail Mart). Both these initiatives are planned to be taken to scale, with 6,000 existing small retailers and 250 new food service entrepreneurs expected to benefit. Similarly, beekeeping enterprises, with 948 households engaged have mobilized finance of USD 262,000 from SHM, establishing institutional collaboration with CAUs, KVKs, DABUR for capacity building and marketing. The enterprise is registered under FSSAI to sell raw and processed honey by Beekeeping PGs and is expected to scale up to 10,000 households to generate an additional income of USD 4.15 Million per year.  The project has successfully integrated delivery of intensive Behaviour Change Communication on improved nutrition and sanitation practices through SHGs to women members. An independent IFPRI study finds that 47.7 percent women in treatment areas reported minimum dietary diversity relative to 35.3 percent women in the comparison arm. More than 1.5 million women members have received BCC inputs through the SHG platform and the project plans to intensify the intervention through complementary approaches around promotion of nutrition gardens, menstrual health awareness and group-based monitoring.  An important achievement has been the selection of BRLPS as an NRO for nutrition integration in livelihoods, which will help scale up and integrate nutrition within livelihoods programs across different states. JEEViKA continues to facilitate exchanges with states and neighboring countries, with SHG women providing and receiving training from their compatriots and community resources.  Significant progress has been made in developing an MIS platform with more than 98 percent of CLFs and 94 percent of VO transactions digitized. Several mobile applications have been developed to support data analytics in interventions like Poultry, Goatery and FPO management. Data entry has been decentralized to block levels and in many places to Cluster level federations, paving the way for a community led digital future for the project.  The project has successfully rolled out a fully functional Grievance Redressal Mechanism under the project. In addition to all 534 block offices, 121 two-year old Cluster Level Federations (CLFs) have a formal and functioning grievance registration mechanism in place.  In addition to ongoing TA from the Gates Foundation, the project has leveraged a USD 6 million technical assistance grant from donor consortium Co-Impact to support implementation of the graduation approach for 100,000 ultra-poor households. The grant was negotiated with the support of the World Bank and will engage globally renowned partner agencies to work on the Satat Jeevikoparjan Yojana (SJY), a Govt. of Bihar initiative designed along the lines of ultra-poor graduation pioneered by BRAC.  Convergence with government programs to deliver services to the rural poor remains a strong agenda and the BRLPS has proven to be an effective partner in delivering on flagship programs such as Swachch Bharat Mission and in strengthening participation of communities and SHGs in PRIs. Through the Visioning workshop, BRLPS/JEEViKA has initiated a process to review its mandate and institutional structure to be able to deliver on the needs of the rural communities of the State over the next 10 years with greater efficiency and impact.
