The challenge of not yet appointing a Reproductive Health Manager is still negatively affecting the coordination at the central level despite the satisfactory coordination among the outreach teams working in the field. The implemented integrated outreach round targeted the governorates of Sana’a, Ibb, Hodeida, and Al-Dhalea where child and maternal health and nutrition services were provided for communities located at the rural areas with minimal or no coverage by fixed health facilities. The outreach round reached out to approximately 30,000 under-five children and 25,000 women of child bearing age with vaccination services, integrated management of child’s health, screening and referral of malnourished under-five children, disease control and health education. Page 1 of 6 The World Bank Report No: ISR15871 In addition and in light of the current global and regional situation, a national Polio campaign, partially supported by the World Bank, is planned to be implemented during the period 10-12 August, 2014. Public Disclosure Copy On the other hand, assessment of the targeted districts’ health facilities has started and expected to be finalized by the end August 2014. The results of the assessment will be the basis for equipping and upgrading the facilities to perform their duties as first level referral for the outreach teams. Procurement of drugs, equipment and contraceptives is ongoing through specialized UN agencies (UNICEF, WHO, UNFPA).
