On the eve of the ceremony, a sensitization workshop on Corporate Social Responsibility was organized in partnership with the High Commissioner in Canada, WWF and GIZ. The upcoming launch of the Strategic Environmental Assessment and Social (SESA) is expected to follow not only in Yaounde, but also in the region. The sector has seen significant progress in recent months. Indeed, the project Mbalam Convention was signed in late November 2012; the first diamond export in accordance with Page 1 of 5 The World Bank Report No: ISR8128 the Kimberley Process was officially completed on 16 January; and following the mining forum organized by the PRECASEM and the Bank in May 2012 the private sector is structured in a Mining Association and articles of Association were filed in December 2012. However, no investment decision has been made to date and new exploration permits are still frozen.
