During the period covered by this ISR, the implementation of the Program has accelerated as the procurement and/or execution of the Program activities under each of the Result Areas has been making progress. In addition, the disbursement of the advance was processed and the Program Coordination Unit (PCU/MEA) and the Program Support Unit (PSU/ONEA) have both become fully staffed and operational. The implementation of the Program is however facing substantial delays on the following critical issues that will need appropriate attention from all levels in order to be addressed to speed up execution, including the recruitment of the Program’s Independent Verification Agent and an acceleration of the ONEA- procured activities. A launching ceremony of the Program was held on April 25th, led by the Burkina Faso Prime Minister.
