Project results include the following: production and nation-wide dissemination of the 2012-2013 Ghana Extractive and Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) report disclosing revenue flows in the sector; development of Civil Society Organizations (CSO) Consultation Guidelines to guide Government and CSO engagement in Natural Resources and Environment; Public Expenditure Review for the Forestry Sector (available at http://www.mofep.gov.gh/sites/default/files/reports/NREG%20Report.pdf) examining spending patterns and their links with the established sector priorities and the potential for improved service delivery; update of the Plantation Development Strategy and Forest Master Plan; preparation of three forest management plans; finalization of the Artisanal and Small Scale Mining (ASM) Framework covering issues of galamsey and legal artisanal mining; Needs Assessment for the Minerals Commission and the Environmental Protection Agency to enhance their capacity for handling ASM (with training and equipment, as per needs identified, provided to 24 District Mining Committees); completion of a Climate Change Support and Impact Monitoring Disclosure System (CCSI-MDS) project database on mitigation and adaptation; preparation of a Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Action (NAMA) on charcoal; and refurbishment and equipping of a gold assay lab at the Kotoka International Airport. Preparation of the State of Environment report is still ongoing.
