Below is the progress achieved under each of the Project components: Component 1: School census data collection strategy – One of the strategic priorities for the MENFP this school year is the setting-up of an online registration platform for the high-stakes exam at the end of upper secondary. This task will require updating the information on the universe of schools in Haiti through a school census and, consequently, the Bank team will collaborate with the DPCE to offer its technical support in this task. Component 2: MENFP M&E system strengthening strategy – The roadmap to establish an effective EMIS has been finalized. This includes two core documents (i) a diagnostic of the current data collection system and of the quality of the available data and (ii) the priorities of the MENFP to implement the proposed solution (organized between short- and long-term activities). Component 3: Implementation of the MENFP M&E system strengthening strategy – A delegation of six representatives of the MENFP travelled to Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) from May 20th to May 25th for a knowledge exchange about the Education Management and Information System (EMIS). This study trip, co-financed by the TFSCB and the GPE, had three main objectives: (i) learn about the diagnostic tool on EMIS developed by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) with the support of the Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA) and participate as observers in its application on the peer review of the Burkina Faso EMIS, (ii) share experiences and participate in 9/21/2019 Page 1 of 4 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Haiti Statistical Capacity Building in Education Grant (P161160) technical discussions on where each country stands vis-à-vis each standard and discuss concrete ways to improve EMIS practices in each country and (iii) reflect on the EMIS in Haiti and validate its development strategy.
