The development objective outcome will be measured by the decrease in pollution loads in the selected hot spot areas. The target for this indicator will be the achievement of at least 75% reduction in the quantity of pollutants emitted by the target companies in each of the targeted hot spots. The proposed project will also be a vehicle for supporting the Government of Egypt to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the emerging carbon market established after the entry into force of the Kyoto Protocol in February 2005. The Project disbursement has increased from US$92.3 million in June 2013 to US$102.1 million in November 2013. As agreed during the previous mission, the total funds of US$160 million have been fully allocated and the status of all sub-projects has been converted to Page 1 of 5 The World Bank Report No: ISR12130 under implementation. Disbursement of the World Bank loan of US$20 million increased to US$14.7 million representing 74% of the World Bank project fund. The Project Management Unit submitted revised disbursement forecast taking into account the recent political situation. The task team will continue to closely monitor disbursement.
