So far, the Project has financed, among others: (i) acquisition of Heavy Vehicle Simulator (HVS) equipment that simulates years of traffic loading to optimize the design of pavements and improve its durability, (ii) laboratory equipment to strengthen the supervision capacity of districts, (iii) elaboration of four Road Safety Plans in Santiago del Estero, Salta, Jujuy y Tucumán, (iv) Smartway consultancy and implementation of Smartway pilots in key corridors to enhance energy efficiency in the Trucking sector in Argentina (including update of regulatory frameworks to incentivize the use of more energy efficient technology in the trucking sector), etc. Ongoing, there is a Cost System for road projects to strengthen transparency, planning and anti-corruption measures within the road sector, and four multiannual investment plans in Santiago del Estero, Salta, Jujuy y Tucumán to strengthen the provinces' planning capacity of maintenance investments.
