The Loan became effective on May 21, 2015. Three works contracts funded by the Loan were signed in April 2016 with a total value of approximately USD169 million. Pre-qualification has been concluded for the fourth works contract. URC is making preparation for works commencement including securing the necessary clearance such as planning permit and construction permit, and completing utility relocation, traffic diversion and construction drawings. Zhengzhou Municipality has started resettlement for the project and approximately 95 percent of the residential households have signed resettlement agreements. Zhengzhou Municipality is preparing the bidding for the remaining civil works as well as for a Public Private Partnership contract, which will cover equipment and operations for Line 3.
