In spite...  Vea más + This Performance and Learning Review (PLR) summarizes progress in the implementation of the FY14-FY17 World Bank Group (WBG) Armenia Country Partnership Strategy (CPS), which was discussed by the Board of Executive Directors in October, 2013. In spite of significant changes in the country environment, the WBG-supported program is making progress towards the achievement of some important CPS outcomes. The strategic areas of focus in the CPS remain a valid overall framework for the WBG engagement with the country, but some adjustments are required to address challenges that have emerged as the regional and national context has changed. Armenia continues to experience an economic downturn driven largely by regional and global events, punctuated by volatile currency movements; in this regional context, Armenia's realignment and accession in January 2015 to the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) has not generated the full range of near-term benefits expected. A change of Government occurred in spring 2014, requiring a period of reconsideration and adjustment of key priorities. The planned reduction in access to concessional financing when Armenia graduated out of IDA on 30 June 2014 coincided with an unexpected economic downturn. These economic and policy dynamics necessitates an adjustment in the CPS to account for this new context. The goal is to allow for fuller outcomes oriented implementation of a historically large portfolio and facilitate a more robust lessons-learned process from the implementation of reforms that build resilience to shocks.  Ver menos -
