Component 1: Support for the Tete agribusiness growth pole in the Zambezi Valley Sub-component 1A: Upgrading of local infrastructure: 5/14/2019 Page 1 of 6 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Mozambique - Integrated Growth Poles Project (P127303) • The rehabilitation of R605 has a physical progress of 76% and a financial progress of 64%. The rehabilitation of the R604 has a physical progress of 68% and financial progress of 59%. The abnormal heavy rains in early 2019 have at the margin slowed down the conclusion of the roads rehabilitation, but not in a way that would affect the overall success of the intervention. Component 2: Support for the Nacala Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in the Nacala Corridor • The supply and installation of electrical and mechanical equipment for new holes, rehabilitation and construction of distribution centers for water in Nacala has an actual physical progress of 93%. Official launch is expected for June 2019. • A total of 12 bridges and water passages are in advanced stage of rehabilitation in R702 in Nacala. Still, the works have been impacted by the heavy rains and the challenge in installing the concrete plant. Sub Components 1B and 2B: Innovation and Demonstration Catalytic Fund (IDCF): • A total of 18 subprojects have been approved by the Investment Committees, eight of which in the Zambezi Valley (Sub-component 1B) and ten in the Nacala Corridor (Sub-component 2B). The approved grants correspond to US$ 21 million, which are expected to generate contributions from the private sector of US $ 26 million. Implementation of the sub-projects is ongoing with high commitment and enthusiasm from the local communities. Component 3: Institutional Development and Capacity Building • Following the approval of the Property Registration Code (Law nr 2/2018) with the support of the project, government officials have been trained to implement and disseminate the Property Registration Law and the Integrated System of Property Registration (SIRP). Updating the IT system is expected in 2019 with the support from the project. • The Committee to evaluate public investments in the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) evaluated a total of 23 projects, the last 19 of which during the period of this ISR.
