Has the Project Development Objective been changed since Board Approval of the Project Objective? If the current push and momentum is maintained there is good progress foreseen by early next FY. For this to happen however, there is need for urgent and diligent contract management by all PIUs, as more contracts become ready for execution. Strict and diligent contract monitoring by all PIUs and the PCU will ensure improved project implementation as well as expenditure and disbursements. The current disbursement rate is only 12% after three years 5/10/2019 Page 1 of 6 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report ODRA-VISTULA FLOOD MANAGEMENT PROJECT (P147460) of project implementation. Although there have been staffing changes at the PIUs over the last couple of months, vacancies are being refilled and fiduciary as well as safeguards trainings undertaken for new staff. This will help the new teams get on board faster and ensure continued improved project implementation. The first works contract under the project (3B3 Flood Protection in Tarnobrzeg) was successfully completed. Overall 8 works contracts are in place with a total commitment of over 260 million EUR (including the three Technical Assistance (TA) support consultancies), representing 25 % of the total project cost. An additional almost 88 million EUR is currently in ongoing tender procedures (1 ICB, 1 NCB and 4 QCBS). In addition, 100 million EUR is at the preparation stage and expected to be launched by June 2019 (reaching 40% of the total project cost). The IMGW activities remain behind schedule and its critical that the agreement between Polish Waters and IMGW be signed as soon as possible to enable the institute to sign contracts and thereby start implementation.
