Last mission was conducted on May 21-25 2018. The disbursement rate of the 6 million USD PPA is more than 98%. The PIU is fully operational. The IDA credit is effective since May 29, 2018. The SPV, a public (49%)-private (51%) company, is now established and operational. The SPV now substitutes to the MoF in the ACE consortium/CM&A. Plans for the construction of the landing station in GB are being finalized by the SPV so as to launch the construction process conditional to adoption of safeguards plans. The selection of consultants for the safeguards-related activities have been launched. The PIU is being strengthened with the recruitment of dedicated safeguards specialist. ACE invoices are being processed. This will accelerate the construction of both the landing station and submarine cable. A visit by SPV representatives to the ACE Consortium HQ in Paris is being discussed.
