The first year of the project was planned as a preparatory phase, as a result none of the PDO indicators had first year targets. However, the project is currently lagging and has failed to achieve physical and financial targets for the first three years. The project implementation needs to be expedited towards completion of planned activities to achieve its development objectives. The State Government of Jharkhand at the highest levels has reiterated its strong commitment towards successful implementation of the Tejaswini Project. Some of the long-pending consultancy packages have been award and have given much needed momentum to the project implementation. The Project has strong potentials for making up the lost ground by expediting implementation. 12/30/2019 Page 1 of 6 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Tejaswini: Socioeconomic Empowerment of Adolescent Girls & Young Women (P150576) The Bank Task Team in consultation with the Jharkhand Women Development Society (JWDS) at the Department of Women, Child Development & Social Security (DWCDSS) has developed a detailed plan of action for expediting project implementation.
