Project activities are advancing rapidly. To date, 32,000 families (close to 65 per cent of total target) in urban and rural areas have benefited from new titles to their properties, while 339,000 parcels have Page 1 of 7 The World Bank Report No: ISR12197 been surveyed. Moreover, Miskito communities of the territorial council of Katainasta and Auhya Yari received collective title to their lands in August 2012 and May 2013 respectively, setting a historic precedent for the country, while the demarcation process of two more territorial councils is underway.
