The World Bank's Joint Implementation project is part of a larger boiler rehabilitation/fuel-switch operations at the Pecs site. The other rehabilitationactivities are not within this project boundary as they do not result in emission reductions. The World Bank Prototype Carbon Fund (PCF) is purchasing emission reductions for the years 2008-12. The project was commissioned on November 25, 2004 and has an installed capacity of 49.9 Megawatts and generates on average 300 Gigawatt hours/annum. The emission reductions generated for 2008-2011 have been independently verified and the project is performing well, generating emission reductions at a higher level than the minimum required in the Emission Reduction Purchase Agreement.
