This progress is due to the increase in the promotion of good practices, including the replacement of old coffee trees, rejuvenation by coppicing, the use of the required inputs, especially fertilizers and pesticides, and the adoption of maintenance techniques of coffee trees. It is also worth to add the quasi-systematization of intercropping in the rejuvenating or replacement coffee plantations, which is a significant incentive for the coffee growers. Important effort is required from the Client in order to improve the project's achievements under components 1 and 3 and to increase the disbursement rate. 7/18/2019 Page 1 of 8 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Burundi Coffee Sector Competitiveness Project (P151869) Risks Systematic Operations Risk-rating Tool Risk Category Rating at Approval Previous Rating Current Rating Political and Governance High High High Macroeconomic High High High Sector Strategies and Policies Moderate Moderate Moderate Technical Design of Project or Program Moderate Moderate Moderate Institutional Capacity for Implementation and Sustainability High Moderate Moderate Fiduciary Substantial Substantial Substantial Environment and Social Moderate Moderate Moderate Stakeholders Substantial Substantial Substantial Other Substantial Moderate Moderate Overall High Substantial Substantial Results PDO Indicators by Objectives / Outcomes PDO indicators IN00725780 ►Increased coffee productivity in the project area (Number, Custom) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 0.80 0.80 0.80 1.60 Date 31-Mar-2015 31-Oct-2018 30-Apr-2019 30-Apr-2022 The evaluation of this indicator is part of a comprehensive survey that the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (ISTEBU) will be implementing soon under a contract with the Project Comments: Coordination Unit.
