There have been delays in the execution of the Institutional Development Plans (IDPs) and some DLIs are at risk of non-achievement. Progress has been made in some areas, and key achievements under the project in the last 6 months include: • Eighty-eight higher educational institutions (HEIs), of which 70 are first time applicants, have completed National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) accreditation application. This takes the total for the state to 219 HEIs against a target of 155 HEIs. • Fifty colleges have completed tracking of at least 70% undergraduate and post-graduate students who graduated in 2018. • Fifteen HEIs carried out the first round of remedial classes successfully under the project against a target of 10 HEIs. • The first round of satisfaction survey of 50,000+ students and 3000+ faculty was completed. • The State Project Directorate (SPD) has received the final report reviewing existing government scholarship schemes for higher education students. Building on the recommendations from the report, the revised schemes will be initiated in the coming academic year 2019-20. • Civil works for 47 colleges without own building are at different stages of completion. It is expected that completion certificates and hand-over of all the buildings will be finished by March 2020. • Seven focal points have completed most of their visits to selected 100 HEIs for the governance benchmarking exercise. The first set of institutional reports are expected to become available by October 2019.
