The project has since completed all required legal needs and is effective. The first project implementation mission was undertaken in July 2013,focused on consultations regarding the implementation of component 1 of the project. Component one seeks to hold a workshop focused on identifying gaps and priorities on referral services, initial reporting procedures, data collection in South Tarawa and other Page 1 of 3 The World Bank Report No: ISR11650 priority actions as articulated in the programme. This component will also support WDD to undertake further analysis on key priorities on possible capacity constraints in institutions and services aimed to protect and support women who are victims of/or vulnerable to GBV or DV. Consultations with service providers and with the Donor community have commenced and further dialogue is needed to be undertaken. Other donors have extensive activities in this Public Disclosure Copy area and are developing major sector-wide plans with the WDD, the World Bank project will align with government’s evolving plans. Once the National Workshop is completed, a final report/ diagnostic study will be prepared to identify next steps in services available and actions to protect and support women victim of GBV and DV with the identification of priorities for the implementation of Pilot Sub-Projects.
