Request for first withdrawal of funds was received by Q3, 2019. 11/1/2019 Page 1 of 7 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Nigeria Electrification Project (P161885) Progress Investment Components: • Component 1a PBG (Performance Based Grants): 9 companies qualified under PBG program working on 400 sites, 3 more companies interested including ENGIE/Transcorp, first project expected to deliver electricity by end November 2019 (PowerGen) • Component 1b MST (Minimum Subsidy Tender): RFP submitted through STEP requesting for bank formal clearance, 153 mini grid sites under 4 lots • Component 2 SHS: 9 companies qualified, and another 2 expected to apply in early 2020. 130.000 systems projected by end CY 2020 • Component 3 EEP: preparation activities ongoing (FEED, ESIA, Livelihood Restoration Plan (LRP), Bid Docs, Owners Engineer, Sustainability Plan) - RFP expected Q1, CY 2020 Progress Technical Assistance: • RFP issued for Independent Verification Agent (IVA), Grant Administrator (GA) – set of new activities cleared through updated procurement plan of which an important one is on productive uses Cross-cutting: good progress on gender with 7 women in senior management roles, cohort of STEM female students to be trained on the job under Component 3 and requirement of 30% female staff of developer actively being enforced.
