The Technical Assistance to Municipalities in Urban Land Use Management and Municipal Finance delivered tangible improvements in participating municipalities, especially regarding their local revenue generation, and workshops were conducted with new municipal administrations to enhance sustainability. As for Sub-component 1 (b) National Level Support for Improved Municipal Governance, the central agencies are implementing the last activities agreed under their 2018 works plans. Component 2. The drainage rehabilitation works in Beira were concluded in August 2018 and inaugurated in September 2018; a technical assistance is supporting the commissioning of the system and institutional strengthening of the municipal authorities responsible for its operation. The green infrastructure works in Beira, co-financed by the German Cooperation/KfW, started in June 2018 and about 20 percent of the works had been completed as of February 2019. The priority drainage works in Maputo started in July 2018 and about 50 percent of the works had been completed as of February 2019. The technical assistance to strengthen the capacity of participating municipalities to adapt to climate change, funded by the Nordic Development Fund, is underway and progresses well.
