To date, the Project has achieved the following results: 1. Pilot courts in Astana were effectively strengthened resulting in increased efficiency of service delivery and case administration, and reduced case backlogs. 2. ICT Strategies for the MOJ and the Supreme Court, the Strategy for the Academy of Justice were developed and approved. Their implementation will contribute to the PDO achievement with respect to increased efficiency and transparency of, and access to, selected public services in the justice sector. 3. The capacities of the Supreme Court staff with regards to court administration and e-justice were strengthened through a series of knowledge-sharing events and technical visits. Supreme Court is also organizing an International Justice Forum in September 2019, to leverage knowledge and harness good practices in court administration, infrastructure and justice service delivery. 4. The institutional capacity of the Supreme Judicial Council is strengthened with respect to improved and autonomous selection of judges and their professional development. 5. Professional skills and capacities of forensic experts have been enhanced. Recommendations to improve the legal and institutional framework for forensic services were also provided. 6. Advancement of the recent constitutional and law enforcement reforms by providing just-in-time expert commentaries on the constitutional laws, the introduction of elements of the adversarial system and the guarantee of constitutional rights of citizens during criminal proceedings. 7. A set of legislative amendments to improve service quality in property registration, legal aid, intellectual property, forensic expertise, and the quality of legislative drafting and selected legislation was produced and is at different stages of governmental and parliamentary approval.
