Most significantly, the procurement of civil works for the West Coast Road is currently underway, with a milestone for the project being the issuing of bid documents in December 2017. The closing date for the submission of bids was March 5, 2018, and the evaluation process has commenced. The project has experienced significant delays, attributed to early survey and design issues, which meant that the civil works could not be completed within the original timeframe. However an extension of the closing date by 22 months has been approved, which will allow sufficient time for the completion of civil works for the West Coast Road. The overall improvements in project implementation and project management have bolstered progress towards achieving the development objective.
