The project team is making substantial efforts to compensate the delay in disbursement at the beginning of the project and demonstrates results. A total number of 411,048 poor and vulnerable people now have access to a safety nets system through cash transfers or cash for work in the regions of Adamaoua, Far-North, North, East and Yaounde and Douala. New activities will be scaled up in the North West region. A safety nets system capable of identifying and targeting the poorest and a management information system has been successfully established. It will be strengthened to become an integrated management tool. Accompanying measures for human capital and productive activities have also been rolled out. This sub-component is making progress but it will be strengthened to consider shortcomings identified during the supervision mission, and to focus on the prevention of gender-based violence. A related action plan is under implementation. In addition to the activities that were planned through this intervention, an estimated 6,000 beneficiaries living in areas affected by the displacement crisis in the extreme North are receiving cash transfers for one year. A further 9,000 beneficiaries will be targeted very soon. The household beneficiaries of Yaounde and East region expressed their satisfaction for the support they receive from the project during a field visit.
