Project implementation slowed down during the last four months due to staff changes affecting the project implementing agencies notably AARTB. The Government has undertaken that the new project staff will be trained and empowered to manage the day-to-day activities of the project. Thus, execution of the project is expected to pick up in the next four months’ time. 2 . The success of installing a robust driver licensing, vehicle registration and penalty system (renamed Transport and Traffic Management System -TTMS) lies in a close collaboration among the key stakeholders including FTA, MCIT, INSA and others in in supporting the MCIT’s e- Government strategy. This also offers an opportunity for sharing of data and avoid establishing duplicate databases and prudent use of scarce resources. 3 . The concept design for TTMS has been completed and endorsed by the users including the regional administration. The process of preparing the bidding document has begun. Bids will be invited in the next four months.
