The Credit Agreement was signed on January 21, 2018 and the project became effective on February 23, 2018. The first implementation support review was held from May 7 to May 11, 2018. Achievements under the project so far include, inter alia: • Project implementation committee (PIC), which is a legal covenant, has been constituted. • Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) signed between the Project Secretariat (PS) and HELVATS/ENSSURE (latter supported by the Swiss Development Cooperation) for technical support and continuation of the joint monitoring arrangement (for short-term training) practiced under the first EVENT project. • MOU signed between the PS and Technical Institute for Technical Instruction (TITI) for the leadership and management training for 20 heads of Technical School Leaving Certificate (TSLC) and Diploma institutions and occupational training for 100 TSLC and Diploma instructors. As per their MOU, TITI has initiated the trainings. • A total of 500 students have been selected to receive scholarship to attend TSLC program. Verification of these students are underway. • MOU between the PS and National Skills Testing Board (NSTB) for skills testing of prior skills (acquired formally or informally). As per their MOU, NSTB has completed the skills test of 6902 youth (50% level 1 and 50% level 2) against a target of 6000 youth to be tested for prior skills. • The PS has selected short-term training providers, following a rigorous selection process, for results-based short-term training (RBST) of 12,000 youth, and voucher-based short-term training (VBST) of 4,000 youth. Both RBST and VBST training are already underway and will be completed by July 8, 2018.
